The biography

Composers' CV

Olivier and Carole were both born in 1955, the first in Versailles, the second in Strasbourg. They followed their musical studies in the CNR of their respective towns, in guitar as far as he is concerned and in piano for her, musical analysis and harmony for both.

Married in 1979, they form an original couple since they are just as united by their links to composing. Professors of guitar and piano, they founded their own music school. Their great teaching experience, and their constant concern with renewal and creativity, push them towards composition, at the beginning for guitar and piano, but then all sorts of instruments and formations.

With the advice of highly qualified musicians, they tackle all the facets of different musical tendencies : - in the wake of the great romantic composers, with the constant concern of bringing together the essential technical progression with the instrument and the beauty of heartfelt writing.

- in the revival of current styles, by recreating jazz, bossa-nova, blues, rock, rai(north African Arab music), disco… in their own way

- in the tradition of world music, melodies and styles from all countries with their modal and rhythmic characteristics

- in the subtlety and side wings of film music, or variety

- in the creation of original music for relaxation and musical therapy

- in the work of arrangement, transcription and adaptation

In this vast range of original productions, Olivier and Carole receive the recognition and encouragement of eminent personalities of the musical world, who have prefaced their scores published by Billaudot, Combre and Schott frères (now Schott Mayence). Among them Pierre Paubon † (flautist, composer and arranger), Geneviève Ibanez (reknowned pianist and professor at the CNR in Boulogne-Billancourt), Simone Feyrabend (concert violist and professor at CNSMP), Jean-Pierre Sabouret †(first violin in the Opéra de Paris), Philippe Bary (concert cellist, professor of the Conservatory of the 12th and assistant at the CNSMP), Guy Touvron (famous trumpetist), Christian Chanel (concert guitarist and professor at the CNR of Versailles), Véronique Roux (concert pianist and accompanist at the CNSMP) [cf. references]…

Their works have been imposed in the exams for Steinway, Ile de France, Bellan…, in the CNR and conservatoires of Versailles, Strasbourg, Le Mans, Angoulême, Orsay, conservatoires of the city of Paris…, and at a national level in the commissions of FFEM, CMF… They are regularly invited as jury for the conservatoires and exams.
